I had a 10 hour stopover in Bangkok, met another german tourist who wanted to do a quick view of the city, so we rushed through some of the sights. Since I haden't slept well on the plane (thank you crying kid, who kicked my seat sporadically) my memory is a little hazy. The grand palace was very impressive, but not very busy. Bangkok is an incredibly large city, spread out with no real percievable center. Standard asian markets are everywhere. Took heaps of photos, but I think the camera overheated because most of them turned out really really bad (stripes and lines all through the photo). Also ran out of batteries, so my wandering through the markets trying to find dinner went unrecorded. Ended up eating at KFC - didn't want to risk the unkown. Again.
